Digital Fables

This collaborative project displays the great team work of our fifth grade students. Beginning in drama, each student wrote an original fable. 21 fables were selected to use as plays and to create into a digital story. Students were divided into creative teams where they developed a script in drama and illustrated their story in art. In the art room, students used Eric Carle as their inspiration, painting their own papers, incorporating rich colors and textures. As a team, students designed their illustrations by cutting out their characters and scenery from the decorated papers. The animals and scenery were arranged on white paper, photographed and then moved and rearranged again for each scene. The photographs were then imported into Voicethread. Students edited their images and added audio to complete their digital fable. The final stage was to export the files into Vimeo. Thanks Mr. Peppler and Mr. Moreno for your help throughout this project!
