A Stippled Still Life
Each quarter my students are given two out-of-class assignments. I call them art binder assignments as each student is required to keep an art binder for handouts, notes, sketching, grades and to store their art binder assignments. The art binder moves with students from 5th, 6th and into 7th grade. I store them on a binder tower in my room and they move up the tower with each grade level. We are doing a lot more of digital note taking and sharing of handouts via Edmodo, so I will probably move to a smaller binder and require them to keep an online binder instead that travels with them throughout Middle School. For the second quarter, the first assignments students were required to do was called "A Stippled Still-Life." This was a new assignment I've never done before and I was really impressed with the variety of images my students came up with for the subject of their drawing. I only have a sampling of student examples and I tried to show a range of ability and subject matter. Feel free to leave me a comment about my student's work.
