Art Room Update
Our Middle School artists are hard at work as we reach mid-term. The fifth grade students are putting their finishing touches on some amazing fauvist watercolors inspired by french painter, Henri Matisse. The sixth grade class is exploring metal tooling techniques with brass metal while applying the concept of radial design. They will finish their pieces by placing the metal into a blackening solution to achieve a patina surface. And finally, seventh grade artists are applying characteristics of the art nouveau style to the creation of a proportional figure using scratchboard. Check our the second floor at the end of the week to see the seventh graders non-objective monoprints and wordles. Be on the lookout for the 5th and 6th grade work to appear in your child's Artsonia portfolio! Don't forget about the second art binder assignments due the week of October 4th.
